Desserts at Satterfield's have always been good -- after all, owner Becky Satterfield is a pastry chef -- but in recent months it's gotten even better. Corey Hinkel is now executive pastry chef, and executive chef Haller Magee's creative influence is apparent, as well. This photo was actually taken a couple months ago and got lost in the shuffle, which is why you see spring strawberries.
Some of the current offerings feature seasonal summer fruits and I guarantee you they are delicious. The most recent menu on their web site includes Angel Food Cake with blackberry compote, blueberry compote and sliced Chilton County peaches with Chantilly Cream, as well as a almond-blueberry tart with mascarpone mousse and spiced blueberrry compote (featuring blueberries from Petals from the Past.) Even the chocolate mousse cake is dressed up for the summer with a blueberry-peach sorbet terrine.
