Stomp Grapes

Here's something fun to do this weekend -- The Morgan Creek Winery Grape Stomp, Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Enjoy an old-fashioned grape stomp, live music, food, a Lucy look-alike contest and grape harvester demonstration.

There's live music by the “Big Tasties," food from Richey’s BBQ and Franklin’s Homewood Gourmet, and wine tastings and winery tours all day. The Lucy Look a like contest is at 2 p.m. – come dressed like Lucille Ball to win a cash prize.

In case you're not familiar with the Lucy grape stomping reference, it's from the fifth season of the "I Love Lucy" show. Originally aired in April of 1956, the episode, "Lucy's Italian Movie," features Lucy en route to Italy. An Italian producer offers Lucy a role in a film called "Bitter Grapes." So she decides to take a job in a vineyard to absorb a little "local color."
