Hector Alvarez from Gloria Ferrer Winery will be hosting a wine dinner in the private dining room at Satterfield’s on Tuesday, July 22nd at 7:00 pm.
On the menu: Summer fruit salad with NV Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Noirs; pan seared diver scallops with 2006 Gloria Ferrer Chadonnay; Fois Gra au Torchon with 2005 Gloria Ferrer Pinot Noir; domestic Whitetail venison loin with 2005 Gloria Ferrer Merlot; and chocolate berry slice dessert with a 2003 Gloria Ferrer Syrah. A little Internet research shows that Gloria Ferrer is best known for its sparkling wines, in 1991, inspired by the quality and character of their estate fruit, they began crafting still wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Gloria Ferrer is located in the picturesque Sonoma Carneros region, 40 miles northwest of San Francisco. Owned by the Ferrer family, whose wine experience is rooted in 19th century Spain, they cultivate the fruit for their sparkling and still wines in their 335 acres of estate vineyards.
