Local jazz guitarist Eric Essix will be performing Tuesday nights in the Icon lounge beginning at 6:30 p.m., no cover (from City Scene, Aug. 24) ... The owners of Taziki's have opened Baha Burgers at the Colonnade, where you can get burgers made from Angus beef, pork loin, chicken, salmon, lamb or turkey, with unusual toppings, plus wine and beer (from City Scene, Aug. 24) ... A new coffee shop called Java & Jams has opened at 321 20th Street North, serving chai, smoothies, and hot and iced espresso drinks using coffee from Leeds-based Higher Ground Roasters (from Black & White Aug. 23) ... Bonedaddy’s, an upscale barbecue restaurant, has opened in the former location of Michael’s Steakhouse in the Village at Lee Branch on Highway 280, owned by John Cowan, who was managing partner of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse for five years (from Black & White Aug. 23) ... Bogue’s has opened a second location on Oxmoor Road in Homewood, in the building that long housed the Florida Grill (from Black & White Aug. 23)
